Since the <code>mediawiki</code> package is available in the Arch Linux extra repository, you may use pacman command to upgrade the MediaWiki instance, and to finish an upgrade, go to <code>/usr/share/webapps/mediawiki/</code> and run <code>php maintenance/run.php update</code> to finish the upgrade.
