Introduction

Stanley or Finsley, is a seventeen years old student at an unknown university with an unspecific gender.

The sleep paralysis demon, a demon in their sleep.

The story

Stanley is a normal student whose life is considered to be academically successful by the most people they have met. They have won many prestigious awards and is subjecting himself to an unnecessarily complicated university application hoops. "It's a total hokum", they said. It was, and still is pretty normal for him to have a weird sleep schedule as for the reasons that was told. Although, for not very long, just a week ago, they decided to listen to their teachers and mother's suggestion; to get a better sleep schedule. For a week, they've got an entirety of 8-hours of sleep. And they were noticeably more happy with pride.

But one day, they sat down and lie into their bed, snuggling their bed pillow that was laid beside them, and decided to sleep. For them at this point, ad-hoc sleep seemed like one of their famous party tricks. Unfortunately, they were unable to enter a "deep sleep", an essential state in which one develops memory consolidation. A fact about a deep sleep is that one will not dream during this state of sleep. To a normal person, they looked as if they were getting normal sleep. But for them, it's a total nightmare.

They were woken up in an unusual environment, similar to that of his home, yet vaguely so different. They went to school, their usual weekday businesses, but things were a bit odd, but they did not bothered to care, despite the fact that they will absolutely care about little details in real life. They were tasked to do something by the teacher, and so they did. They walked into a room and they've found an entity, a living creature. Its entire tentacle-like body is in shades of black, the eyes are white with total black pupils. "Run, Stanley, run." said the creature. Stanley ran with every breath they have, it was such an adrenaline rush to their head. Unfortunately, the living creature caught up to them, ties them up with their tentacles into a wall. And introduces itself, "I'm your sleep paralysis demon, I'm a shapeshifter that can shift to any life forms that exists and you shall-". As the demon was talking, everything went pitch black.

Stanley was teleported into a room, the room emits faint red light, Stanley was tied into a chair with a piano in front of them. "If you can play this song, I will let you go. But if you fail, you will be in an eternal sleep." said the sleep paralysis demon. Stanley was hesitate to make the deal with the demon and attempted to wake up. But to no avail, the demon said "That will not work... you'd just have to deal with me.". The demon whip up an arpeggio, a broken up chord, reminiscent of an old Mario game- actually, it is from a Mario game. The soundtrack is called "Dire, dire docks". The demon said, "I'll play first as an example, YOU however needs to follow.". And thus starting with an arpeggio. Stanley followed up. The demon said, "Good job. Now, play this as well.". Stanley followed up... They messed up... The chair sends the electricity to Stanley. The demon said, "Be careful, god damn it! Now, follow me again". The demon plays the section again. Stanley follows almost perfectly. And then the demon plays the high pitched section of the song. And Stanley gradually regain conciousness in the real world. And finally. Wakes up.

Their body have the fuzzy feeling like an old big box CRT TV static feeling. He gets up and go to the bathroom and strangely enough, his pupils aren't dilated for night vision.
